The philosophy of a family that has shaped the history of the Fara Novarese territory
The Fara territory has always been dedicated to viticulture, and the Prolo family has been a part of it from the beginning. At the beginning of the last century, great-grandfather Giuseppe, also known as "Cràvin," was already a small viticulturist in Fara. After the Second World War, the baton passed to his sons, Emilio and Carlo, known as "I Paita," who significantly expanded production by acquiring new vineyards such as Ochera, Al Mot dal Bataru, Mutin, Snori, Valfantin, Olinda, and later Vojabursi and Scurgun. Finally, Vigneta and Vignagrosa were added, making it a fully-fledged wine company.
In the 1970s, the cellar passed to Flavio, known as "al Paita," who successfully continued the family business until the end of the millennium.
Today, Christian, by investing in the restructuring of the vineyards and the expansion of a modern cellar, as well as opening a sales centre for typical Fara products, enhances the raw materials while fully respecting the environment, continuing the Prolo family's century-old tradition.
Cantinoteca dei Prolo offers excellent typical Piedmontese wines that have made quality and territoriality their strengths.
The Prolo family is made up of men and women with a great passion for the land, which they have been cultivating for generations, following tradition while combining it with innovation and environmental sustainability.
Cantinoteca dei Prolo offers visits to the vineyards and the cellar upon reservation on Mondays and Saturdays, with the tour starting at 10:00, 14:30, and 16:30. Availability is also provided for other days, always by reservation.
